Every table has rules.
Most of them are unspoken, which is how they get broken.
Vulnerability only works when the room is safe. Hospitality only holds when the commitments are mutual. Soul care only goes deep when trust is structural, not assumed. These are the agreements that make the values possible.
The Covenant of the Table
When I take a seat, I agree:
- I will hold what is said here in confidence.
- I will not pitch you.
- I will not poach your people.
- I will tell you the truth, kindly.
- I will show up when I said I would.
- I will let you be a whole person, not just a leader.
- I will leave the door open behind me.
If I cannot keep these, I will say so before I take the seat.
